Stephanie Katsaros, MLS, ASCP, started her career with eight years in the active-duty military, working as a Lab Tech for the U.S. Army. As a generalist, she was stationed all over the world including a deployment in Afghanistan and a tour in Germany. Being the top of her class, she completed her clinical rotations in Hawai'i at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Once out of the service, she used her GI Bill to obtain her MLS from St. Cloud State University as she worked as a Lead Microbiology Tech at Regions Hospital in Minnesota (a top 25 hospital in the U.S.).

She accepted her position with Butler Memorial Hospital as the Microbiology/Molecular Supervisor in 2021 where she continues to better patient care and bring in advanced technology to support her research in microorganisms and sepsis while improving care for those in her community.
