Description:

Date/Time: September 28, 2023 | 1:30 - 2:05 pm ET

In this session, the presenter will delve into the realm of sepsis management and explore two crucial aspects: early fluid management strategies and recent advancements in drugs. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and evidence surrounding early restrictive or liberal fluid management for sepsis-induced hypotension. By examining the latest research and clinical trials, valuable insights will be gained to inform the decision-making process and optimize patient care.

The exciting developments in drugs and treatment options for sepsis-induced hypotension will be explored, including the mechanisms of action, potential benefits, and limitations of these novel drugs, shedding light on how they can improve patient outcomes. Through a critical evaluation of the latest clinical studies and advancements, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of these drug interventions. By discussing optimal timing and administration methods for drugs, attendees will become equipped with practical knowledge to enhance their clinical decision-making skills. The integration of evidence-based practices derived from recent studies will ultimately result in improved patient care and better outcomes in sepsis management.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe the principles and evidence behind early restrictive or liberal fluid management strategies for sepsis-induced hypotension in order to make informed decisions regarding patient care;
  • Identify the latest advancements in drugs and treatment options for sepsis-induced hypotension, including their mechanisms for action and potential benefits in improving patient outcomes;
  • Restate recent research findings related to sepsis management, including the optimal timing and administration methods for drugs to enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
