Emily Cusick, BSN, RN, CCRN

Emily Cusick received a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Southern California. She then worked for a market research firm in Los Angeles that supported clients including Disney, Miller-Coors, and Johson and Johnson. It was through her work on a study for Johnson and Johnson that she became familiar with the medical field.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University, Irvine, she began her nursing career in 2013 in the Neurosurgical ICU at the University of Colorado Hospital. With her background in Neurosurgical intensive care, she came to Providence Mission Hospital in 2016 to work in their Neurosurgical and Trauma ICU where she developed a passion for the sepsis care pathway and sepsis patients.
She joined the Sepsis Response Nurse team in 2021 and became the Sepsis Clinical Coordinator in 2022. In this role, she incorporates previous work experience and success in market research to strengthen and support the hospital sepsis program.
