Rajit K. Basu, MD, MS, FCCM, is considered a world expert in the study of acute kidney injury among critically ill patients, including children with sepsis. His work encompasses tools for risk stratification, biomarker based phenotyping of acute kidney injury, advanced extracorporeal renal support therapies, and novel strategies for fluid management. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed original science papers, review articles, and book chapters. He serves in prominent leadership roles across the world, including currently as the Chair of the Pediatric Section of the Society for Critical Care Medicine.
