Katie Chiotos, MD, MSCE is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She is also an attending physician in critical care medicine and infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and the George Washington University School of Medicine, and also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed pediatrics residency training at CHOP, followed by a combined fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases and pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Chiotos’ research focuses on the epidemiology of antibiotic resistant organisms in the pediatric intensive care unit setting as well as antibiotic stewardship in this population. She currently leads several research projects related to antibiotic use in sepsis and pneumonia and has extensive experience leading local sepsis quality improvement work.
