Amber Theel, RN, BSN, MBA, NEA-BC, CPHQ, joined Adventist Health System in June 2018 and is now the system's Patient Safety and Quality Executive. In the past, Ms. Theel served as Director of Quality Outcomes and Metrics for a seven-hospital system and was the Executive Director of Patient Safety at the Washington State Hospital Association. 

Ms. Theel is extremely passionate about improving sepsis outcomes. Leveraging technology and executive commitment has helped her organization achieve a system-wide CMS SEP-1 Bundle compliance rate of 80%, with 40% of the hospitals in the system achieving above 85%.

Ms. Theel developed her expertise over two decades, working in varied roles at hospitals ranging from the bedside to the c-suite. While serving as Chief Quality Officer, she oversaw quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, infection control, risk management, and patient satisfaction. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and a Master of Business Administration. She is a certified professional in healthcare quality and holds a Greenbelt in Six Sigma.
