Matthew Zackoff, MD, MEd is an intensivist with fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine. He is also a researcher who draws on his degrees in biomedical engineering and medical education, as well as his formal training in improvement science methodologies to investigate the use of novel technologies in physician training and patient care. Dr. Zackoff believes providing the best possible care to patients requires timely and accurate recognition of clinical conditions, and that one of the best ways to accomplish this is to ensure that frontline healthcare providers are clinically competent and work in systems that support their efforts. His research focuses on the use of novel technology to improve patient outcomes. Currently, Dr. Zackoff is studying how virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence technologies can enhance clinician training, improve performance assessment, and optimize healthcare delivery.
