Alyssa Walker, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP, discovered her passion for infectious diseases in a microbiology course during her undergraduate education and pursued this interest during graduate school through a student-research position focused on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics of antiretroviral agents. Dr. Walker obtained her PharmD from University of Colorado School of Pharmacy in 2009. She went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheatridge, CO and a PGY2 infectious diseases residency at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA. She is board certified in both clinical pharmacy practice and infectious diseases pharmacotherapy and is an active member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP). Dr. Walker has over 10 years of inpatient hospital experience and during this time helped to pioneer a multisystem Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. She is on a mission to improve patient outcomes related to infectious diseases through the responsible application of diagnostic technologies.
